Modern Tech

1. Modern tech is simply an adv of old tech. The impact of tech in modern life is unmeasurable. We use tech in different ways and sometimes the way we implement various tech do more damage than good. What we call modern tech is technically not so new in most cases. For ex, mobile phone tech has evolved from what it was in the year 2000 and continued to do so today. Nowadays we use smartphones which is merely an advanced version of an older mobile phone. We use tech on a daily basis to accomplish specific tasks or interests. Modern tech or evolved tech at times may replace previously used tech due to its increased benefits or newfound popularity.

2. Access To Info. It has become pretty easy to get access to relevant info at any time and anywhere. This has been poss because of modern tech like broadband internet. Lots of data is being published and indexed online, sites like Wikipedia and Youtube have great original content that is regularly used for research or entertainment. 

3. Innovation And Creativity. Tech seems infinite. It sparks the brain to work to its full potential. In the past, it used to be very difficult to start a business. One had to have lots of capital and they even had limited access to business info. Today, it is simple to start a business while at home. Creative developers post projects to seek funding from the community. This helps them generate capital for their ideas which later leads to the creation of new jobs and further innovation of tech. The other creative works which have been facilitated by modern tech incl Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.

4. Better Comm. Communication is like water to life. It is essential to growth. We can not progress without comm. Modern tech has blessed us with adv comm tech tools. These incl e-fax, elec mail, mob phones, video conferencing, instant text msg apps, social networking etc.

5. Ease of Mobility. Transport is a very important both in our lives and in the business world. Transportation technology has evolved with years. In the past, it used to be slow and expensive to move long distances. Now a days, we can cover a 10 miles distance within a few minutes using electric trains, airplanes or cars. Modern transportation technology makes it very easy to travel long distances. 

6. Housing And Lifestyle. New architectural tech has improved the kinds of home we build. People with money can afford floating homes, and glass homes or people with smaller means can make tiny houses or mobile homes. Most of the items in our houses are now automated, for ex, doors use fingerprints, key cards, or Bluetooth on our mobile. Sy has also increased at home with the evolution of more robust integrated sy sys.

7. Entertainment. Modern tech has played a significant role in changing the entertainment industry. Home entertainment has impv with the invention of video games, adv music sys and visual sys like smart TVs which can connect live to the internet so that a user can share what they’re watching with friends. 

8. Efficiency And Productivity. Many companies have integrated modern tech in their production line, increasing output and allowing for more consistent qual. Modern tech has helped businesses increase production. Humans are slow and sometimes they fail to deliver on time and qual. 

9. Education. Modern tech has made it simple for students to learn from anywhere through online edn and mob edn. Also students now use modern tech in classrooms to learn more effectively. For ex, students use Comp/ Tabs to share visual lessons and exwith peers in the classroom. This has made learning more convenient and fun. 

10. Networking. Modern tech has made it simple to discover our old friends and also discover new people to network with. This is a benefit to both individuals and businesses. Many businesses have embraced social networking tech to interact with their customers. 

11. Health Industry. Humans can easily make mistakes because of work overload and stress factors. Additionally, the dev community has developed health apps that enable us to monitor our health, weight or fitness. These apps are used on mob phones. So users have access anytime. Today most hospitals have implemented modern tech in surgical rooms and this has reduced mistakes made by doctors. 

Disadv of Tech

12. Security. Tech have aided security. However, due to these adv, everything is connected to the internet in some way. Our financial accounts, our photos, our cars, mob phone, everything touches the internet at some time. Due to the network of worldwide devices and systems, many have fallen prey to an identity thief, hacked accts by some mischievous hacker. The road to recovery from these types of attks can be extremely long and painstaking.

13. Job Loss. Modern tech has replaced many human jobs. Robots are doing the jobs which used to be done by humans. Many packing firms have employed robots on production lines to increase production and efficiency. This is good news for businesses because it helps them make more money and serve customers but it is bad news for employees because they may become redundant.

14. Competency. Increased dependency on modern tools like calculators and spell checkers has reduced our creativity and int. Many today struggle with spelling even basic words without an editor to cfm every word. Others find it imposs to do basic math without a calculator. Though these tools assist to make us more efficient, we may become excessively reliant on them.

15. Increased Loneliness. Social Isolation is on the increase. People are spending more time playing video games, learning how to use new modern tech, using social networks and they neglect their real life. Tech has replaced our old way of interacting. 

16. World Destruction/Advanced Weapons. Modern Tech has been the main aid in the increasing of endless wars. It aids the manufacturing of modern war wpns. So when these wpns get into the hands of criminals, they will use them for their selfish reasons. To add, these wpns often severely damage the natural earth, making some areas uninhabitable.

Unintended Consequences

17. Innovation itself is a catalyst for future innovation. As a result, an innovation by one person or org enables and encourages innovations by others. Consider that initial innovation in 3D printing, using plastics, enabled innovation in printing using a wide variety of materials, ranging from ceramics to metals and glass. Likewise, 3D printing spawned innovations in printing cars, buildings and, yes, even guns. The process happened so fast that plans for 3D printed weapons were available well before the airing of recent concerns about the release of plans for such weapons. This topic is just now becoming a focus of govt bodies and various orgs. The fact is, regulations have not curbed the development of the tech, nor are they likely to prevent its proliferation. Additionally, many innovations are the result of research for malicious purposes or as we like to call them. 

18. Everything from wireless comms to the predecessor of the Internet to autonomous vehicles has been a focus of govt research. As a result, a new technology often is developed and implemented in a variety of applications long before society becomes aware of it, or expresses concerns about it - long before it is utilized in consumer applications. Govt applications often include weapons. Note that this pattern is not limited to electronics. The same is true for energy, chemical, biomedical and other forms of technology. Additionally, advances in one form of technology often enable advances in other forms of technology.

19. Advances in AI are rapidly accelerating advances in other technologies by enabling the ability to build models and simulations larger and faster than humans are capable of processing. As a result, technology is moving so fast that it is impossible to see all the potential consequences, much yet the applications, in advance. This may be one reason that the entertainment industry often depicts the future so negatively and so often as the result of technology. It reflects our collective fear of those unintended consequences.
